大學英語授課中的有效教學結構
Effective Instructional Structure of EMI in Universities

演講摘要/Abstract
Despite the need, popularity, and potential benefits of conducting EMI in higher education, EMI instructors often need to cope with various challenges, from students’ insufficient English proficiency to inadequate time to fully cover the materials. These challenges may pose even greater problems for faculty members who lack the experience or techniques of teaching subject knowledge in English, a language with which their students or even they themselves are not familiar. BOPPPS, also known as the “Effective Teaching Structure,” is a six-step lesson-planning model that can help teachers to tackle the pedagogical and linguistic issues that may come up in an EMI course. In this talk, I will introduce to the audience what BOPPPS is, explicate why this model is relevant to EMI, and illustrate how it can be carried out in an English-mediated course. I will describe the principles of designing and implementing each step and identify a number of activities and strategies that can be adopted in conducting EMI lessons with the structure of BOPPPS.
